Every spring, second year students at Bergen Academy of Art and Design design the visual identity and exhibition material for the degree show of the MA students. This job includes design activism, printed material for the exhibition, web and social media promotion, and other exhibition material such as decoration and wayfinding in the exhibition area. Our group were given a brief with the keywords: minimalistic and coherent, as well as the theme "Action/Reaction". The theme follows as a common thread throughout the whole project, and is coherent throughout the identity.

To promote the MA exhibition we placed posters and flyers in the city, as well as projecting a short video promoting the students, every night for two weeks before the opening of the exhibition. Visit Behance to see more from the project.
In the beginning of the process we generated a lot of ideas, and established the rules for the visual identity. Afterwards we split tasks and formed smaller groups. For this project I worked mainly with material for the exhibition area (wayfinding and video projection) and design activism.

As this was a big project, we had to split tasks and form smaller groups, with different focus areas. We started the process developing a lot of ideas together for all of the different focus areas, for instance the concept for the visual identity and what typography and colors would be used. I was a part of the exhibition-area group, responsible for wayfinding in the exhibition area, video projection and design activism. Examples of other focus areas were photography and print (posters for the exhibition, or the exhibition catalogue).
